Getting a Better Property Valuation by Installing Ceiling Insulation
As the price and value of property increases throughout Europe and America having good insulation ould still mean the difference between getting a good price or the lowest price in your area. When a valuation team takes a look at your property one of the first things they will be looking at is your home’s insulation because it tells them something about how well you have cared for your home. It will also tells them if or not your home was really used. People who either have broken or no insulation often end up getting way less than what they should.
Why is insulation important
The most important insulation and something that adds value to your home is ceiling insulation. This is because ceiling insulation slashes both your cooling and heating bills by almost half. There are different types of ceiling insulation i.e. mineral wool, cellulose and vermiculite etc. Now it is important to understand that insulation does not stop heat flow it only slows it down. The better you ceiling insulation is in terms of material the more it will slow the flow of heat hence reducing your heating bills. Your attic should also be properly insulated so that the heat inside of your home does not escape though your attic.
How to choose effective insulation or your property
When purchasing insulation for your property always make sure to check out the R values of the material, which should tell you how good the insulation is at slowing down the flow of heat. You can also add several types of insulation together to increase the R value. For instance you can add fiberglass insulation between the joists which are rated at R-3 which should increase to R-30, adding another five or so inches of fiberglass rated at 2.5 can increase it to R-12.5.
You can also choose blown insulation which is cheaper but also has a much lower R value and needs to be installed using a blower. This is something you probably can’t do yourself and will require that you hire an insulation firm. Hiring a pro is still better since a pro will know how to properly install blown insulation without compromising the R value of the blown insulation this should cost you lower than batts insulation.
