Construction worker killed after falling on metal stake

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A building employee died right after falling from a scaffold on to a metal stake Wednesday early morning in the Village of Palmyra, Palmyra General public Protection reported.

Officials say they acquired a phone reporting the incident just following 11:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Violet Avenue. When community protection officers responded, the construction worker was pulseless and not respiratory.

Community protection officers tried using doing lifesaving steps and taken off the metallic stake, but the employee was pronounced lifeless on the scene by the Jefferson County Clinical Examiner.

The bordering area was closed for quite a few hours because of the incident, officials say.

Palmyra Public Security Division, Occupational Basic safety and Overall health Administration, and the Jefferson County Clinical Examiner are continuing to look into the incident.
