In terms of a house renovation, it may encompass a total makeover of the entire house or just a certain portion of the house. In terms of home improvement, it can be regarded as any activity that transforms your house into something that is more desirable and comfortable.

Home renovation is often financed through home equity or through mortgage loans. In some cases, homeowners may use their personal assets to finance their remodel. Usually, however, homeowners choose to obtain financing from a contractor.
